Adaptation Meets Adaptation
Les Misérables the musical movie introduced the story to thousands of new fans last December, but it's by no means the first adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel. Before, besides the world-famous musical, there have been countless other movies, plays, radio plays, anime, comics, even another musical, a fighting game and a Disney comic...
The task in this contest is to portray characters from two or more different versions of Les Misérables interacting.
You can use any adaptations, and also the original novel. Here's a list with many of the adaptations, and detailed descriptions of some of them can be read here.
Different productions of the musical count as separate adaptations. You can, for example, have the 10th and 25th anniversary concert casts interact with each other.
Fanfiction, fanart and alternate universe scenarios don't count as adaptations.
You must use at least two different adaptations (one of them can be the novel), but there's no upper limit.
The contest is open to both visual arts and literature. Remember that your submission must follow the Submission Rules. The usage of photos and screenshots from any of the adaptations is forbidden. Literature entries shouldn't have more than one chapter.
One entry per person. The entry should be made for this contest – no art dated before June 5th 2013 will be accepted. Please submit your entries to the Adaptation Contest folder in the group gallery.
The contest deadline is August 1st.
The winner will be chosen via voting.

Admin on Hiatus
Hello all.
For reasons related to work and studies, I have less time to spend online time than ever before. Therefore I'm afraid I do not have the time to keep LesMisClub (https://www.deviantart.com/lesmisclub) updated anymore. Maybe I will again, some day, but for now, it's an indefinite dA hiatus from my part.
In case someone feels like they'd like to take over the group and become an admin to help me out, please send me note on my personal account Starlene (https://www.deviantart.com/starlene). I will log in after a week or two to check that out. And in case no one's interested – I'm afraid I cannot but leave the group go unupdated. I am very sorry, but at the moment, I simply do not have the time
Admin Back
Hello everybody,
just a quick heads-up to thank you for your patience this summer. I'm back online again and will do my best to update the group more often again. Have a lovely August!
Greetings,

Hi all!
Long time, no talk. I'm just letting you know that for the next six or seven weeks, I'll be doing some traveling and will be largely away from keyboard. I'll still accept new submissions to the group gallery whenever I have time to visit dA, but seeing your submission in the group may take longer during the summer than usually. Thank you so much for your patience in advance already!
Hope you're all enjoying your summer (or

I'm back from my summer vacations and will be visiting dA regularily again. Thank you for your patience!
Hi guys!
Just a little notice: I'll be traveling, and hence away from keyboard, for the next two weeks. I'll try to visit dA during my trip, but I don't know if I'll get many chances to do so. So, if I'll you submit something to the group during the next few weeks, it might take it longer than usually to be approved in the gallery. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hope you're having a lovely summer so far! Is anyone seeing a production of Les Mis this summer – or performing in one?
Greetings,

Barricade Day Approaching! + Affliate Group Collab
Hello all!
Barricade Day is almost here! Like every year, it's soon time to commemorate the failed June rebellion and celebrate all things related to Victor Hugo's Les Misérables. The fandom holiday is celebrated on June 5th and 6th – Thursday and Friday next week, that is! The real-life June rebellion happened on June 5th and 6th, 1832, and the fictitious events at the barricades in Les Misérables are also set on those dates.
What are your Barricade Day plans for this year?
What's more – if our recent Stage Redesigns contest still left you wanting more, our affliate group HearTheMizziesSing (https://www.deviantart.com/hearthemizziessing) has started a col
