Just a quick question for you my dear Mizzies: October is almost over and November approaches! We are also VERY overdue for a contest. Got an idea for a contest theme for a writing contest? Gotta have a writing contest when the leaves turn colors! It's tradition!
This is a little ways off and kind of off topic, but I was thinking that maybe we could do a sort of "25 Days of Les Mis" meme? It could start on the first of December and count down till Christmas, when the movie premieres.
Scenes from the point of view of lesser characters/background characters - The workers at the factory for example.
A character from the book meeting their musical/film counterpart (or some combination therein)
Scenes which are mentioned but never actually shown, like when Valjean runs away with the silver and then returns captured by the guards. What happened between him running away and being brought back?
Writing a small piece based on a specific genre or emotion. So the writing has to be action, sci-fi or perhaps horror to fit with the fact Autumn is the season of both Halloween and Fireworks.
Something other than romance (or even lacking romance entirely), as that is a bit over done. n.n
Just from the what I'd honestly like to read point of view, I agree with you — romance is a bit overdone. I think it'd be nice to have a subject that allows writing romance but also allows other subjects. I quite like your ideas, especially writing short scenes based on specific emotions!
Hmmm... I suggest that it be to insert a scene that might not have appeared in a certain medium, like a heart to heart between Eponine and Cosette as adults. Autumn is a time of change, for thinking of what might have been.
