Dear all,
Like many Americans, I some times forget the world doesn't revolve around us. Our older siblings in the United Kingdom were treated to the movie premiere last week and we happy USA residents will be unwrapping the movie like our favorite Christmas present in just a short while. But while I know everyone, myself included, who gets to see the movie Christmas day or soon thereafter will be weeping with joy and anger and passionately ranting about the movie to everyone else who's seen it, let us remember, that not everyone gets that privilege.
There are Les Mis fans in this group from places in the world that will not get to see the movie until as late as March! In solidarity with and respect for them, we will be following the lead of Starlene, our co-founder, and Musical-fans and forbidding spoiler-containing art until March 2013. In other words:
LES MISÉRABLES MOVIE SPOILERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THIS GROUP UNTIL MARCH 2013.
(The following is edited from Starlene)
By spoilers, we mean:
Art depicting scenes that are different in the movie than they are onstage (i.e. if scenes were done like they're in the book, not like the stage musical, that would a be spoiler).
Comments that have to do with things like cut songs, changes in song order, added scenes...
Your detailed opinions about the movie.
If you feel like asking "is this a spoiler?", it is.
You can post Les Mis spoiler art only if:
There is a CLEAR SPOILER WARNING in the title.
You use a PREVIEW IMAGE that has a spoiler warning (save your image as gif, and dART lets you upload a preview image for it).
We're doing this for two reasons:
There are lots non-Americans this group. Pretty much the whole world gets the movie later than the US. Les Misérables is maybe the most anticipated musical movie ever. This is OUR movie: it belongs to ALL OF US. And all of us deserve the chance to see it, unspoiled. Spoilers are like looking out at the untouched snow in your front yard just as one of your neighbor's dogs runs across it and pees right in the middle of it all.
One of the reasons why we are standing strong on this issue is because one of our own admins, Starlene, is unable to see the movie until February. So while she and I both approve art for the group, she has issued this fair warning for when she is attending to the group inbox:
"If someone sends in spoiler-y art, it certainly won't be published. Depending on how angry I am about being spoiled myself by the art when I see it in my inbox, the artist may be kicked out of the group. I am dead serious. I'm very passionate about this, so yes, this will get personal. I hope it doesn't have to and EVERYONE MARKS THEIR SPOILERS CLEARLY."
These rules will be followed until MARCH 2013.

Be FOREWARNED that just because we are forbidding blatant spoiler submissions, that does not mean that spoilers will not be posted to the group. It may be safer for you to turn off the group submissions to your inbox until March and stay away from the Movie folder in the group. (You can turn off group submissions by going to "your friends" in the dA drop menu and unchecking "deviations" next to the LesMisGroup name. You can change this at any time and it WILL NOT remove you from the group. You just won't get deviations in your inbox).
Some spoiler information may/will be linked to in future group journals. But we will aim to make the group as spoiler free as possible.
Being a member of this group means that you have some kind of love, and more likely passion, for Les Miserables. Think about how much you love it and remember that your fellow group members love it too. Let us each do our part to protect one another from spoilers that would ruin the movie experience. Even if you yourself are not bothered by spoilers, that does not mean that others aren't. In this case, err on the side of caution.
Much love to everyone, and remember you have 8 days to submit your picture for the group project!!!!

Admin on Hiatus
Hello all.
For reasons related to work and studies, I have less time to spend online time than ever before. Therefore I'm afraid I do not have the time to keep LesMisClub (https://www.deviantart.com/lesmisclub) updated anymore. Maybe I will again, some day, but for now, it's an indefinite dA hiatus from my part.
In case someone feels like they'd like to take over the group and become an admin to help me out, please send me note on my personal account Starlene (https://www.deviantart.com/starlene). I will log in after a week or two to check that out. And in case no one's interested – I'm afraid I cannot but leave the group go unupdated. I am very sorry, but at the moment, I simply do not have the time
Admin Back
Hello everybody,
just a quick heads-up to thank you for your patience this summer. I'm back online again and will do my best to update the group more often again. Have a lovely August!
Greetings,

Hi all!
Long time, no talk. I'm just letting you know that for the next six or seven weeks, I'll be doing some traveling and will be largely away from keyboard. I'll still accept new submissions to the group gallery whenever I have time to visit dA, but seeing your submission in the group may take longer during the summer than usually. Thank you so much for your patience in advance already!
Hope you're all enjoying your summer (or

I'm back from my summer vacations and will be visiting dA regularily again. Thank you for your patience!
Hi guys!
Just a little notice: I'll be traveling, and hence away from keyboard, for the next two weeks. I'll try to visit dA during my trip, but I don't know if I'll get many chances to do so. So, if I'll you submit something to the group during the next few weeks, it might take it longer than usually to be approved in the gallery. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hope you're having a lovely summer so far! Is anyone seeing a production of Les Mis this summer – or performing in one?
Greetings,

Barricade Day Approaching! + Affliate Group Collab
Hello all!
Barricade Day is almost here! Like every year, it's soon time to commemorate the failed June rebellion and celebrate all things related to Victor Hugo's Les Misérables. The fandom holiday is celebrated on June 5th and 6th – Thursday and Friday next week, that is! The real-life June rebellion happened on June 5th and 6th, 1832, and the fictitious events at the barricades in Les Misérables are also set on those dates.
What are your Barricade Day plans for this year?
What's more – if our recent Stage Redesigns contest still left you wanting more, our affliate group HearTheMizziesSing (https://www.deviantart.com/hearthemizziessing) has started a col
