Hey Barricadiers!
Voting begins today! You have until April 14th to cast your vote- read the rules carefully so your vote will be counted!
How to Vote:
Look at ALL the entries in the contest folder. Consider which piece shows the THEME the best and the quality of the art.
Send a NOTE to the group with the LETTERS of your two favorite pieces in order of which you liked the most. (You may vote for your own piece)
Votes left in the comments box or with only names of the pieces, not the letters will NOT be counted. By letters I mean the letters of the alphabet next to the names of the entries in the list above.

Theme: "Les Heureux"
This theme is open to lots of interpretation. Perhaps you might explore who in the story are "the happy ones" as opposed to being "the miserable ones." Or you might illustrate what would have made "the miserable ones" happy. Or another thought that crossed my mind, right now many fans seem to be "the miserable ones," what might have made or might make the fans "the happy ones" (either about the 25th anniversary contest or the upcoming movie).
This theme is broad, flex your creative muscle and show us what "Les Heureux" means to you!
Contest Deadline: March 31, 2012
Voting will begin April 1st (no joke!) and end April 14th.
Rules:
This is not an illustrative-exclusive contest, but I would encourage anyone considering entering a poetic or prose piece to consider that it is difficult to judge writings against illustrations. A literature exclusive contest will happen in the fall.
The contest submission MUST be the work of the deviant.
The contest submission may NOT use any copyrighted or otherwise infringed material.
The contest submission MUST be submitted by the deadline: March 31st.
The contest submission MUST CLEARLY illustrate the theme in word or art.
The contest submission MAY be of ANY media- illustrative or literature.
If submitted, poems must exceed 50 lines, prose should not exceed 2,000 words
Only ONE entry per deviant.
Contest submissions must be created for this contest.
Prizes:
If anyone else would like to contribute a prize, please comment below or note the group! Remember, contests can only continue through the generosity of the group! Great prizes include points, journal features, and commissions! You don't have to offer a lot to contribute, a donation box for point prizes is located on the bottom left of my homepage: durnesque.deviantart.com/

NEW FOLDER! "Poetry and Prose"
I have added a new folder for poetry and prose deviations! Instead of being organized by their inspiration, written deviations should be submitted to this folder from now on. Submissions to this folder will require a vote temporarily, this may be removed in time. Only the FIRST chapter of any fan fiction will be accepted. This makes it so much easier for people to find your work and start at the beginning. They then may follow you if they wish to read more!
REMINDER: Dolls made through doll generators, SIMS, and other work using content that is not your own (i.e. professional photos of actors/actresses) will NO longer be accepted into the group. If you violate this rule your work will be removed.

Admin on Hiatus
Hello all.
For reasons related to work and studies, I have less time to spend online time than ever before. Therefore I'm afraid I do not have the time to keep LesMisClub (https://www.deviantart.com/lesmisclub) updated anymore. Maybe I will again, some day, but for now, it's an indefinite dA hiatus from my part.
In case someone feels like they'd like to take over the group and become an admin to help me out, please send me note on my personal account Starlene (https://www.deviantart.com/starlene). I will log in after a week or two to check that out. And in case no one's interested – I'm afraid I cannot but leave the group go unupdated. I am very sorry, but at the moment, I simply do not have the time
Admin Back
Hello everybody,
just a quick heads-up to thank you for your patience this summer. I'm back online again and will do my best to update the group more often again. Have a lovely August!
Greetings,

Hi all!
Long time, no talk. I'm just letting you know that for the next six or seven weeks, I'll be doing some traveling and will be largely away from keyboard. I'll still accept new submissions to the group gallery whenever I have time to visit dA, but seeing your submission in the group may take longer during the summer than usually. Thank you so much for your patience in advance already!
Hope you're all enjoying your summer (or

I'm back from my summer vacations and will be visiting dA regularily again. Thank you for your patience!
Hi guys!
Just a little notice: I'll be traveling, and hence away from keyboard, for the next two weeks. I'll try to visit dA during my trip, but I don't know if I'll get many chances to do so. So, if I'll you submit something to the group during the next few weeks, it might take it longer than usually to be approved in the gallery. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hope you're having a lovely summer so far! Is anyone seeing a production of Les Mis this summer – or performing in one?
Greetings,

Barricade Day Approaching! + Affliate Group Collab
Hello all!
Barricade Day is almost here! Like every year, it's soon time to commemorate the failed June rebellion and celebrate all things related to Victor Hugo's Les Misérables. The fandom holiday is celebrated on June 5th and 6th – Thursday and Friday next week, that is! The real-life June rebellion happened on June 5th and 6th, 1832, and the fictitious events at the barricades in Les Misérables are also set on those dates.
What are your Barricade Day plans for this year?
What's more – if our recent Stage Redesigns contest still left you wanting more, our affliate group HearTheMizziesSing (https://www.deviantart.com/hearthemizziessing) has started a col
